Is there anything better than comfort food?
I'll answer that... Nope.
Lately, it has been so rainy here in Seward. And on top of that, Josh and I have both been sick the past two weeks. So, when Josh found this crockpot recipe for chicken and noodles, we couldn't resist trying it.
Crockpot Chicken and Noodles
Ingredients:
- 4 chicken breasts
- 2 (10 1/2 oz) cans cream of chicken soup
- 3 (14 1/2 oz) cans chicken broth
- 1/2 cup butter
- 24 oz frozen egg noodles
Directions:
- Place everything but noodles in a crock pot. Cook on low 5-6 hours.
- Remove chicken and shred
- Return chicken to pot and add egg noodles. Cook two more hours.
* The original recipe only called for 2 cans of chicken broth. After reading the reviews, I read that other people had added 3 cans to make it not as thick. Three cans was perfect!
** I only cooked the egg noodles 45 minutes to not make them as mushy.
*** I also added carrots and celery.
What a great recipe to use on those cooler autumn nights!
What have you been cooking lately?
